Vicki “Skip” Pearson
Hall of Fame member Vicki Pearson from St. Charles has her given name, but emphasizes many people just know her as “Skip” Pearson!
Skip was born in Litchfield, MN and graduated from the Litchfield Schools in 1957, and after which she attended St. Barnabus Hospital School of Nursing and College of Medical Technology in Minneapolis.
In 1961 she married her late husband Dale, and the couple farmed in Meeker County until 1967. After that the Pearson’s moved to Winona County they first farmed in Elba Township and later farmed in St. Charles Township. The Pearson family included 8 children, six of which are still living.
Skip worked as a nurse and medical technician at the St. Charles Medical Center for 20 years, and also notes she raised her children and farmed for all of her adult life. Her husband Dale died in 2024 after 63 years of marriage.
During her spare time she also served as treasurer of Elba Township, and later a 33 year stint as the Clerk of St. Charles Township, which included Election Judge duties. Skip can relate stories about a mouse nest in the ballot counter, or sitting late into the night in the Winona County Courthouse when returning election ballots and there was not the technology available as there now is in 2025.
Some of Skip’s other activities have included Tri -County Electric Board, Winona County Board of Adjustment, Winona County Health Advisory and served as a religion and youth group leader.
