Ted Kjos Day –
Sunday July 13, 2008
Ted Kjos has been named to the Winona County Fair Hall of Fame for his contribution to the county as a supporter of the fair as well as the community.
Kjos is currently the Manager of Marketing for Tri-County Electric Cooperative in Rushford. His job entails marketing for the company, public relations and working with a program Tri-County has called First Call Emergency Response.
Married for 25 years to Allison, the couple are parents to children Trevor, Alex and Anna, and live in Winona County near Rushford. Kjos was born in the area, but left for a time. He returned here in 1996 to be closer to family. As a graduate of the University of Minnesota, he worked for Land ‘O Lakes and in commercial bank lending early in his work career.
Kjos is very proud of Tri-County’s support of the Winona County Fair. The Kjos children are also involved with the Happy Hart 4-H Club, and county fair time is family time for the Kjos family, and Ted can even be seen working in the 4-H food stand.
“Fair entry day is a big event for our family, and I am grateful my children can have this experience… it is wonderful to see all the families together at such an event… the Winona County Fair is a great place,” states Kjos.
Aside from his fair involvement, Kjos participates in the community in Fillmore County EDA, church council and the chambers in various communities.
“It is good to be back in the area where my wife and I grew up,” Kjos says.
